TIJDELIJKE TEKST:The collision of persons,
Every student fits in boxes.
Rotterdam, The Netherlands
Students at the art academy, in this case the Willem de Kooningacademy, are probably the most extravagant people in college life. Well, that’s not what we think. The students at the Willem de Kooningacademy fit in different boxes. Somehow there is an contradiction between the extravagant individualist and the uniform groups in which they may fit.
Art students, Uniformity, Art academy, feeling of individuality, this moment. We tend to reveal the discovery of the lack of indiviuality. The urge of the students to see and show themselves as individuals is what we discovered. Those people can be put in different clusters which shows that individuality is in fact part of uniformity. Therefore trying to be an individual ends up in being part of an uniformity.
We want to show this conclusion by placing the student in a satirical way in boxes. To show them how little they differ from others. In this way we want to encourage them to find new ways of showing their individuality.
We are five students from the Willem de Kooningacademy who noticed an uniformity in the way people dressed at the academy. We come from different specializations naming: Fine art, Lifestyle and design, Photography, Graphic design and Fine art in education. The names we go by are Jip, Mike, Anna, Tess and Wouter.
